Vehicle Highlights
Ford E Transit
The all-new Ford E Transit is the top-of-the-line in the large electric van category. It comes from the same basic platform as the best-selling vehicle in the UK, the Ford Transit custom diesel model, but with many more advantages for the driver and the planet. If you want a great work van with zero emissions, this is the best one to get. It has been redesigned almost completely during the transition to an all-electric van. The best part of owning a Ford E Transit is the access to charging points. There are over 300 thousand Blue Oval charging points across Europe and 450 locations with multiple fast charging points which are compatible. The Ford E Transit is built to give a long drive range, great capability, maximum loadspace, and performance.
Power for All Your Needs
Coming with a 400-volt battery and the choice of 184 hp or 269 hp, you can get around 166 to 196 miles on a full charge based on the WLTP combined testing cycle. A 68 kWh battery supplies all the power you need, including unique brake regenerative modes — use the ‘L’ setting to increase the brake regeneration mode. The Ford E Transit can charge 15% to 80% in 34 minutes on a fast charge. The best way to charge your E-Transit is with the at-home or work charging point — charging overnight in around 8 hours from 0% to 100%. Though it only has a single-speed transmission, it is just like driving an unflappable automatic. The electric motor has been relocated to sit under the van’s rear, and the suspension has been completely revised, also.
Traction and Movability
The revising of the suspension system gives you better handling and a more comfortable drive — making it feel just as good, if not better, to drive than the diesel version. The Ford E Transit has been outfitted with a car-like coil-sprung suspension system. This suspension system gives you more range of movement and high performance. There are three drive modes to give you the utmost control — Normal, Eco, and Slippery. The Eco mode will save you energy by limiting the top speed, optimising climate control, and regulating the acceleration. Slippery mode enables you to drive over ice, water, and mud with more ease, and Normal allows you to use the full range of the battery and standard drive functions.
Models Options
The Ford E Transit gives you the options of two heights and three different lengths — totalling at least 25 different van combinations — H1 and H2/L1-4. Your E-Transit can be anything you need it to be — a standard cargo van, double cab-in-van or even a single chassis.
Space Galore
The cargo area has been optimised to give as much space as possible with the smart placement of the battery and motor. If ferrying people is your main concern, the double cab-in van is your best option. Either way, you can have a max payload of up to 1711 kg. If you find yourself needing to power up your tools or other devices, there is the ‘ProPower onboard’ with three plugs between the cab and load area that delivers 2.3 kW.
Ford E Transit Trim Levels
Depending on the trim level you choose — Leader or Trend. The Leader trim will give you semi-automatic AC, heated windscreen, keyless start, and metal bulkhead. Along with the equipment you get with the Leader, the Trend trim gives you satellite navigation, a moulded floor liner for the load space, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, plus a larger amount of standard safety features.
Interior
Stepping into the van, you will feel only the smallest of familiarity with the Ford Transit diesel version. The first big change you notice is the large screen and digital dashboard. It is a step ahead of other vans of its kind with quality material, connectivity, and design. The gear lever is replaced by a rotary dial to control the transmission, and an electric handbrake replaces the old manual style one — a switch under the steering wheel activates it. The Ford E Transits boasts full height rear doors to easily access the cargo space and the option for a power-side load door.
Keeping You Connected and Safe
The Ford Sync 4 infotainment system with a huge 12-inch screen comes standard in all models and specifications. The Ford E Transit has been outfitted with top of the line technology. The central touchscreen not only shows you bar graphs, giving you real-time feedback about your acceleration, speed, and deceleration, but it also will verbally tell you how to improve your efficiency. The battery will warn you when it is getting low, so you don’t wind up stranded with no way to go, providing the perfect fail safe. As for safety, the leader trim supplies you with electronic stability control, and side-wind assist. The true leader in safety features is the trend trim. This gives you collision mitigation, lane departure warnings, 360° and permanent rearview cameras, and lane keeping. To keep connected to up to 5 vans, there is FordPro in the FordPass Pro app. If you have a bigger fleet, no need to worry, just use Ford Telematics to maximise your productivity and understand the daily operations of your fleet. With these two programs you can view the van’s health, lock and unlock doors, cabin temperature control, and manage the recharging schedules — plus so much more.
Order Your Van Today
Besides increased range, space, and capabilities, the best part about the Ford E Transit is its price. It is undoubtedly cheaper than most vans on the market, including electric vans. Here at Swiss Vans, we have a finance option for any budget or preference. For those who need to purchase a fleet, we can help you with a contract hire or lease purchase. We also have rentals for those times you only need the van for a while, or you want to try it on for size. While you’re here talking vans, why not look into our posh customisation options — leave here with the bespoke van you need and want.
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
