The Ford Ranger Limited  has been ruthlessly tested in some of the most hostile environments, under extreme temperatures, and across the harshest terrain on earth. Not convinced? Maybe your more a VW Transporter type person or a Ford Transit Custom.

The vehicle has also been put to the test by some of the world’s most unforgiving judges, who voted the Ford Ranger: International Pick-Up Award 2013. They are one of the best truck to lease. A different cuttle of fish to a Luton Van or a VW Caddy. 
Who knows. One day they might make electric vans in 4×4 and hopefully cheap vans.

These leading motoring journalists were unanimous in their decision, giving Ranger more points than the combined total for both the second and third-placed vehicles.

No doubt the judges were impressed by the extra power, delivered by a line-up of advanced Duratorq diesel engines, which can help you transport a payload of up to 1,340 kg and tow up to 3,500 kg.

The new Ford Ranger has been developed in Australia and will be built in Thailand, Argentina and South Africa, from where it will be exported to over 180 countries around the world.

The Ford Ranger Limited is a mid-range model. The other trim levels available are the Wildtrak, XL and XL T. There’s a choice of Duratorq turbodiesel engines:

• 2.2-litre with 149bhp
• 3.2-litre offering up 197bhp
• 2.2-litre, 123bhp – only available on base models.

Each engine can be matched with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox that has been designed to help reduce emissions and save on fuel costs. The 2.2l puts out an impressive 277lb ft of torque, which is sufficient to cope with the size of the Ford Ranger pickups.

The Ford Ranger pickup has been found to respond well when you put your foot on the gas, even in sixth gear. On test drives, the Ranger handles well on bendy country lanes, with less roll than expected and responsive steering. This truck is impressive both on and off road. With the exception of the XL, Ford Ranger pickups come with selectable four-wheel drive. You can switch the drive mode to suit the terrain.

This is a truck that was built to be a workhorse but it’s equally as comfortable on city streets. A Ford Ranger lease would be idea for a whole range of businesses, whether you’re based on a farm or in the urban jungle instead. The high driving position means you’ll never forget you’re in a pickup, but Ford have added brilliant extras to make spending time in the Ranger as pleasant as possible. Cruise control and reversing sensors are both standard on the Ford Ranger Limited. There’s an option of adding a rear-view camera that actually shows the tow bar, making reversing up to a trailer a doddle. You can also opt to have in-dash sat nav.

All in all the Ford Ranger stands up well to its competition, the Amarok, Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi L200. It’s a great option for anyone needing versatile truck that’s been tested on the most extreme terrains around the world.
